The Northrop Grumman Space Systems Group, Integrated Operations Ground Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer with an in-depth understanding of systems and network configurations. Successful candidates are schedule driven and data driven with the ability to simultaneously focus on short term objectives and long term imperatives. This positions is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities Include:

Design and plans Systems and network communications systems. Provide specifications and detailed schematics for System architecture.Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.Uses  the JSIG and NIST 800.53 to apply security to a system architecture to improve system posture.Conduct testing of System and network design. Maintain System configuration control over SW/HWVersion/configurations (network/computing/applications, automated environment creation.Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.Manage the requirements, design, and implementation for systems to include upgrades/technology refresh, reliability/maintainability, and patch management.Product Deliveries include: ICDs, Emulator/Simulator baseline control, test plans, network diagrams, integration/deployment work instructions, production and test system hardware (e.g. Systems).Must work collaboratively in a team environment across engineering disciplines to accomplish mission goals.Coordinating end-to-end system testing during the I&T phaseSegment end-to-end architecture design, requirements, management and development.Must excel in a fast-paced mission focused environment. 

Basic Qualifications: 

Sr. Principal Systems Engineer Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Math or related area) and 7+ years of experience, Master’s Degree and 5+ years, 4 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Active or current Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.Must have experience designing, developing, building, testing and maintaining network and computing infrastructure.Must have experience identifying systems anomalies and troubleshooting (System/custom applications/COTS software/server infrastructure).Must have knowledge of virtualization sustainment/maintenance.Working knowledge of JSIG and NIST 800.53 and how to apply controlsMust have hands-on experience with Systems/Networks to include technology such as: Switches/Firewalls, Servers/Workstations, Linux, Windows.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active or current Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCIKnowledge or experience in procurement request submission and/or tracking
Certifications: CompTIA Security + or equivalentWindows administration experience to include domain level functions:
Linux administration experience, Networking (Cisco), Virtualization (vSphere ESXi), DoD Security Experience, Cybersecurity and IA/IS OpSec – 5205.02, Risk Management Framework – 8510.01

Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
