Sr New Product Introduction Engineer

Job Title: NPI Engineer

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field4 plus years of experience in manufacturing, process development, or new product introduction (NPI)Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and assemblyExperience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers in a high-mix, low- to mid-volume production environmentProficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and engineering documentation systems (e.g., PLM tools like Agile, Windchill)Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and ability to lead design reviews with cross-functional teamsExcellent problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA)Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesStrong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholdersMaster's degree in a related engineering or technical disciplineSix Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)Experience launching hardware products in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics)Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)Hands-on experience supporting production line setups, validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and ramp-upsResponsibilitiesWork closely with design, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product introductionsDesign, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and test fixturesCollaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to develop and optimize custom parts and production processesPrepare documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), control plans, and work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standardsConduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycleDrive continuous improvement activities, analyze production performance metrics, and provide technical support to the manufacturing flooJob Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Whitsett, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $71000.00 - $118000.00/yr.
