Sr Manager Store Planning

**Position Purpose:**
The Sr. Manager, Store Planning spearheads store design of large scale projects through the partnership with Space Planning, Construction, Logistics, Merchandising, Operations, and IT. This position continuously acts as a liaison between Merchandising and field operators to strategically construct volume driving stores through any and all eligible Store Planning projects. This role directs a team of associates in delivering high quality merchandised store plans for capital intensive initiatives that drive store execution and increases in space productivity that correspond with all Home Depot standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ 35% Quality & Speed to Market: Drives the development and rollout of projects (scope, wave plans, budget, store lists) and communicates to necessary parties. Drives accurate timely deliverables by production team. Drives internal and external team quality through process and documentation improvements.
+ 25% Large Scale Project Management: Develops new and remodeled store plans and communicates direction to field and merchandising partners. Resolves very complex site development, store layout, merchandising, and space allocation store plans within the framework of set guidelines for all U.S. Stores and set budgets.
+ 20% Talent management: Actively supports recruiting and on-boarding efforts. Maintains a keen understanding of company culture, processes, and tools. Effectively manages associate strengths, and develops their critical thinking and solution development acumen. Provides opportunities & publicizes recognition for team members.
+ 10% Collaboration & Relationship Management: Takes a leadership role in establishing solutions to meet key business needs and drive trusted partnerships. Motivates and supports team in presenting findings/recommendations and enables collaboration with merchant partners.
+ 10% Supports other tasks and duties as business needs dictate.
**Direct Manager/Direct Reports:**
+ This position reports to Director Store Planning.
+ This position has 0-3 direct reports.
**Travel Requirements:**
+ Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be eighteen years of age or older.
+ Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Working knowledge of retail best practice space management practices.
+ Proven abilities in teaching, mentoring, and elevating overall team knowledge and quality output.
+ Proven experience in space management and construction experience for large format retail.
**Minimum Education:**
+ The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
