Sr Manager, Supply Chain Mgmt, Intermodal Operations, Amazon Intermodal
Description As the Senior Manager of Intermodal Operations at Amazon, you will lead our rapidly expanding intermodal network operations managing a team of over 100 professionals. In this dynamic role, you'll shape the future of Amazon's intermodal operations by orchestrating the end-to-end operational execution across rail ramps, Amazon sites, and shipper locations, ensuring optimal network balance and health. Your responsibilities will include: - Scaling operations from a startup-like environment to an enterprise level maturity - Managing complex supply chain movements involving thousands of units - Driving operational excellence, process re-engineering and continuous improvement through KPIs including on-time pickup/delivery, dwell time management, and storage optimization - Developing standardized processes to reduce variability and introduce automation - Establishing cost-effective operations while maintaining service quality A day in the life Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to be a big leader and have the opportunity to truly run a business. This role will have the opportunity to support and drive the expansion of a complex start-up type operation that is rapidly scaling to large impact across the Amazon Transportation network. You will initially focus on operational rigor and identifying process requirements and improvement opportunities, and rapidly transition to identify opportunities to allow operations to scale with the business. Basic Qualifications - 7+ years of team management experience - 5+ years of supply chain experience - Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization Preferred Qualifications - MBA - Proven experience in transportation or intermodal operations - Strong background in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies - Track record of both hands-on operational execution and strategic thinking - Experience managing large teams (100+) and complex operations - Demonstrated ability to standardize and automate operational processes Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $233,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
