**Overview**
Burlington is hiring a **Senior Manager, Corporate Merchandising Liaison** to serve as a strategic partner to an assigned EVP Merchant team—collaborating to gather information on incoming product and develop clear guidelines for in-store merchandise execution. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the merchant team's vision and translating it into clear, actionable guidelines for the field and store teams. You will participate in all seasonal strategy meetings as the voice of the stores, ensuring alignment and consistent communication to drive execution and maximize sales opportunities.
The Senior Manager, Corporate Merchandising Liaison (SMCML) will collaborate with Store Planning and Merchandise Allocation to assess space and inventory needs in both existing and new stores. Regular store visits—both independently and alongside GMM groups—will allow the SMCML to identify challenges and recommend necessary adjustments, which will be communicated to the assigned EVP merchant team. Additionally, the SMCML will work closely with the Director of Communications/Gatekeeper to stay aligned with the corporate calendar and review submissions to ensure a manageable and balanced workload for store teams.
**A Day in the Life:**
+ Act as a strategic partner with EVP merchant team to gather information on incoming product, working together to develop guidelines for merchandise execution in stores.
+ Work in stores to test and set merchandising concepts. Validate the vision appropriately highlights product and is easily executable.
+ Write documentation that incorporates the merchant’s vision to aligns with Burlington 2.O. Format must be easy to digest and execute.
+ Partner with store planning to create New and Remodel floor plans. Appropriate space based on planned sales and merchandise builds by geographic area and store size.
+ Ensure that store plans are updated when changes occur. Partner with SR MPMs to communicate changes and help to develop plans to make in-store adjustments.
+ Maintain merchandise guidelines, fixture profiles and pre-fix changes making appropriate updates throughout the year.
+ Shop competitors on a frequent basis to stay up to date on new merchandising concepts and gather ideas that might improve our execution.
+ Work closely with Asset protection to develop guidelines that protect high value product.
**You’ll Come With:**
+ 5-10 years of retail leadership experience; 3+ years of Merchandising experience preferred.
+ Education: BA/BS or equivalent experience.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work cross-functionally to accomplish tasks.
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Able to problem-solve taking business needs into account.
