As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking's Athena Trade Risk & Services team, you will build the next generation of trade structuring tools and components needed by teams across Markets and used globally by our trading desks and support teams. You will work closely with our Athena Trade Risk & Services function, as a member of a highly skilled, agile development team. There will be a high degree of teamwork and technical peer interaction involved.

 

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsWorks on JP Morgan flagship technology product, Athena, which is one of the largest Python code bases in the world (50+ million lines of code).Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsGains exposure to Pricing, Risk and Trade Management functions by working closely with business usersLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectWork closely with Quantitative Researchers to model and implement risk analytics and calculations across myriad of fixed income productsDevelop both front end trader facing tools to visualize risk/pnl analytics and back end feeds for critical regulatory and back office reporting and sign-offs

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts  with a focus on Python.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)-python, java Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Familiarity with modern front-end technologies: React.JS, JQuery, GraphQLExposure to cloud technologies, primarily AWSFixed Income Risk/PnL analytics, integration and supportExperience interacting with and solutioning with Front/Middle Office stakeholdersPrevious experience using Quartz, SecDB, Athena
