Job Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking (PATT) serves as a subject matter expert responsible for the configuration, stability, and optimization of Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking. This role ensures accurate and compliant pay processing, reliable time capture, and effective absence management for a large, complex workforce. The role plays a key part in the multi-year rollout of Workday Time Tracking across all locations, ensuring scalable design, consistent configuration, and operational readiness as adoption expands. The PATT Sr. Analyst partners closely with HR, Payroll, and IT to reduce operational risk, support system scalability, and enable continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
Workday Configuration & System Ownership
Own end-to-end configuration for Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking, including rules, calculations, eligibility, and validations.Design and maintain scalable Time Tracking frameworks that support phased deployment across locations, pay groups, and workforce populations.Design, configure, and maintain time and absence rules aligned to labor policies, union and non-union requirements, and regulatory obligations.Lead complex configuration changes, enhancements, and defect resolution across PATT modules.Payroll Accuracy & Risk Management
Partner with Payroll Operations to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, particularly as new locations are onboarded to Time Tracking.Identify and mitigate payroll and time-related risks introduced during rollout phases, including retro impacts, pay variances, and compliance exposure.Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance reviews.Testing, Release & Deployment Support
Lead unit testing and support integration, UAT, and payroll parallel testing for PATT-related changes.Support deployment activities for each Time Tracking rollout phase, including configuration validation, payroll readiness, and stabilization support.Coordinate and validate Workday releases impacting Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking.Ensure changes are thoroughly tested, documented, and production-ready.Stakeholder Partnership & Support
Act as a trusted advisor to Payroll, HR, Operations, and HR Technology leadership on PATT-related topics.Partner with project and change teams to ensure Time Tracking deployments align with operational needs while maintaining system standards.Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.Provide Tier 3 support and root-cause analysis for complex issues.Continuous Improvement & Optimization
Identify opportunities to improve payroll and time processes through configuration optimization and automation.Incorporate lessons learned from early Time Tracking deployments to continuously refine standards, templates, and configurations.Reduce manual workarounds and improve system usability and data quality.Contribute to governance standards, documentation, and best practices.Experience
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience supporting Payroll, Time Tracking, and/or Absence systems in a complex enterprise environment.Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, Absence, and/or Time Tracking configuration.Experience supporting system rollouts, expansions, or phased deployments is strongly preferred.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.Experience working with cross-functional partners including Payroll, HR, Finance, and IT.Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting manufacturing, hourly, or multi-state workforces.Knowledge of wage and hour regulations, overtime rules, and timekeeping compliance.Experience supporting audits or SOX-adjacent controls.Workday certifications in Payroll, Time Tracking, and/or Absence.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
