Job Summary:
The role of the Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer is to develop and execute test cases independent of supervision and to provide technical and domain knowledge to peers. This role involves using established guidelines to execute test cases and analyze root cause defects.
Responsibilities:
Develop test plans for small to medium projects with focus on quality and efficiencyFollow general guidelines established in the test plan and receive minimal instruction and assignments from leadershipDevelop and modify test plans and adapts to changing project circumstancesDocument and execute test cases from approved test plan, project requirements and designDevelop Software Quality Assurance automation scripts aligned with test planPerform Software Quality Assurance (including but not limited to graphical user interface (GUI), back-end, interface batch, regression, automation execution performance Software Quality Assurance) and record results following established project standards for Software Quality Assurance, defect management, and test deliverablesDevelop defect root cause analysis and verify defect fixesCreate and review test data to support planned testsUpdate the Requirements Traceability MatrixInteract with other functional teamsProvide Software Quality Assurance status updates to leadershipDevelop and provide input to test planning activitiesDevelop test plans and other test documentation as related to specialty areaProactively identify and escalate risks and issues to leadership and assist in developing solutionsAssist in providing technical and functional knowledge to junior staff members and mentor junior staff members Demonstrate domain expertise and present test scenarios to clientsDemonstrate strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies, best practices, and procedures; and apply them to projects to ensure that test objectives are achievedDemonstrate advanced business knowledge in one or more domainsPossess unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence in providing customer support.Keeps abreast of new technology and market developmentsRequest and provide both negative and positive feedbackProvide technical and test guidance to designated Software Quality Assurance team membersRead, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other education- and experience-related duties that management may deem necessary from time to time.

Bachelor’s Degree (Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field preferred)7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experienceExperience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance life cycle (STLC)Moderate back-end Software Quality Assurance experienceExperience with fundamentals of programmingUnderstanding of SharePoint applications, Webex, Skype, etc.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, with a working knowledge of the rest of the Microsoft Office suite of applicationsKnowledge of defect management tools (such as Jira)Knowledge and moderate understanding of Unix commandsKnowledge of database tools (such as Oracle, SQL Server, TOAD)Strong SQL skillsPreferred Qualifications
