**Job Title: Athletic Fields and Grounds Maintenance Specialist**
**Job Description**
This position is responsible for the care, maintenance, and renovation of all intercollegiate athletic fields and grounds on the University’s River Campus. You will also assist with fields and grounds maintenance on the main campus. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure optimal field conditions for both varsity and intramural sports.
**Responsibilities**
+ Develop and implement plans, policies, and procedures for successful maintenance of all athletic fields and grounds on River Campus.
+ Collaborate with Athletic Field Manager and Facilities Services managers to develop and manage budget for field maintenance equipment and supplies.
+ Purchase, maintain, and manage inventory of field maintenance equipment and supplies.
+ Manage mowing and irrigation system on the University River Campus.
+ Monitor and manage all riparian areas.
+ Monitor and assess tree maintenance on property, ensuring no negative impact on construction or field maintenance.
+ Collaborate with varsity coaches to determine optimal playing conditions and execute plans to achieve those conditions.
+ Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards for NCAA Division I athletic fields.
+ Collaborate with Recreational Services to determine optimal field conditions for club and intramural practices and competitions.
+ Manage and coordinate work of technical consultants and contractors.
+ Supervise and train seasonal and student employees, including hiring, setting expectations, communication, training, performance management, and disciplinary processes.

**Work Environment**
The typical workday is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 40 hours a week. During the fall season, weekly hours can range from 40-60 hours, and game days require approximately 12-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions while performing duties.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.76 - $20.76/hr.
