**Position Purpose**
The primary role for this position is direct clinical (speech-language pathology) service delivery to individuals with communication and related disorders (in person and/or using telepractice) at the MSUM Speech Language Hearing Sciences (SLHS) Clinic (on-campus) or via SLHS clinic-related school/healthcare/teletherapy-contracted services or external partners. This includes the design and implementation of complex speech-language pathology plans, requiring communication and documentation of care provided to professionals, caregivers, and clients. The position requires extensive knowledge of the causes and treatment of speech, language, and hearing disorders and clinical experience. This position will include a secondary contribution to clinical supervision and evaluation of graduate students, practicum/internship mentorship, and/or provide observational clinical experiences for Speech Language Hearing Science students at the graduate and/or undergraduate level for the Department of Speech Language Hearing Sciences and Speech Language Pathology graduate program at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
**Salary Range**
$34.69-$51.45 hourly.
$72,433-$107,428 annually.
**Responsibilities**
Direct complex clinical service delivery in SLHS Clinic and/or external contracted services in school/teletherapy/healthcare.
Primary position responsibilities include:
+ Identifying communication needs of potential clinic clients through screenings, observation, interviews, and formal and informal assessments.
+ Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of complex speech and language disorders, including their physical and psychological causes, and evidence-based practices for assessment and treatment methods.
+ Design, implement, and engage in speech-language pathology services for the MSUM SLHS on-campus clinic and/or external partners.
+ Design and develop highly complex speech-language pathology plans and programs both on campus and/or through external contracts with schools or healthcare facilities including providing the necessary supervision of students if applicable. This includes creating appropriate plans of treatment, delivering appropriate interventions, and consulting with applicable interprofessional teams (i.e., physicians, educators, social workers).
+ Communicate the needs and progress of individuals and programs to supervisors, professionals, caregivers, and clients. Requires timely and effective verbal communication, written report writing ability, billing documentation, and efficient scheduling/time management.
+ Participation in IEP meetings and collaboration with contracted site personnel for contracted school services or care plan meetings for healthcare settings, when appropriate.
+ Make presentations of speech-language therapy programming to professionals, education, and community organizations, and institution staff when appropriate.
+ Provide clinical supervision of graduate students, when assigned including practicum/internship mentorship, and/or observational clinical experiences for students at the graduate and/or undergraduate level. This may include supervision and evaluation of a clinician in their clinical fellowship year. This includes the development and responsibility for the completion of assessment/diagnostic reports, progress notes, treatment plans, rating of student clinical competencies, student/client/family conferences, and management of simulated clinical experiences.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Master's degree in speech-language pathology or communications disorders from a program accredited by ASHA.
+ ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence upon employment or upon completion of Clinical Fellowship (CF).
+ Current or Eligible for ND/MN SLP licensure upon employment.
+ Including MN Department of Education, ND Education Standards and Practices Board's Restricted Educator's Professional license as needed for contracted services.
+ Clinical service delivery experience with adults and children.
+ Strong oral, written, auditory, and non-verbal communication skills in various modes (e.g., in-person, phone, and electronic formats).
+ Knowledge or willingness to learn Due Process, SPEDForms, and electronic medical records.
+ Ability to work with little direct supervision, within general guidelines and State policies, in a flexible and adaptable manner, handling multiple tasks and priorities.
**Preferred Qualification**
+ Experience with School Settings/IEPs or Private Practice Service Delivery.
+ Experience with Telepractice Service Delivery.
+ Experience and Interest in working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
+ Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and person- and family- centered care.
+ Demonstrated excellence in delivering speech-language pathology services.
+ Meets ASHA standards for Clinical Supervision.
+ Experience in clinical instruction, supervision, or mentorship.
