Work location: Texas Health Allen, 1105 Central Expwy North, Allen, TX 75013
Work hours: PRN/As needed, On-call (Variable Days: Monday - Sunday) with Weekend and Holiday requirements
Orientation/Training: Must be able to attend orientation/training Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm during the first week of hire

Here's What You Need
+ Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or
+ Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required
+ One year Acute Care experience preferred
+ MBS experience preferred
+ SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or
+ SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required
+ SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Preferred And
+ BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
+ Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills
What You Will Do
+ Performs age-appropriate patient treatment Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
+ Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license
+ Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely
+ Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary
+ Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment)
+ Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self management and assistive equipment
+ Maintains patient safety throughout treatment
+ Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
+ Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
+ Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy

Texas Health Allen has served our community and the surrounding Collin County areas since 2000. Our 88-bed, acute-care hospital provides quality medical care to patients from Allen, Lucas, Fairview, McKinney, Melissa, Wylie, and nearby communities.
We specialize in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, advanced cardiology, electrophysiology, orthopedic and spine treatments, as well as comprehensive women's and infant care.
