Specimen Technician
Job Title: Specimen TechnicianJob Description The role involves managing various tasks related to specimen handling, including sorting, racking, registering, labeling, and storing specimens. Additionally, the position requires data entry and performing miscellaneous tasks as delegated by leadership, particularly concerning the accession of frozen samples. Responsibilities + Sort, rack, and register specimens accurately. + Label and store specimens efficiently. + Conduct data entry with precision. + Perform miscellaneous tasks as delegated by leadership. + Ensure proper accession of frozen samples. Essential Skills + High School diploma required. + Proficiency in computer usage and data entry. + Attention to detail is crucial. + Strong typing skills are a must. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in specimen collection and registration. + Ability to work on the third shift. Work Environment The work environment is designed to promote both safety and productivity. Employees are required to adhere to a dress code that ensures safety: nails should not protrude through latex gloves to maintain PPE effectiveness; tee shirts with non-offensive or non-controversial writing are permitted but must be covered by a lab coat while in the lab; long pants without tears and no exposed ankles are required; sweatpants are not permitted, and yoga pants or leggings may soon be banned. Shoes must cover all skin, with no open toes or flip-flops allowed. The company provides a full gym, cafeteria, and team-building activities such as food trucks and sundae days. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.80 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
