Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Specialty Test Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

 
Essential Functions:

Must be able to obtain and maintain program access

The Specialty Test Manager will be responsible for helping to lead a geographically dispersed organization involving structural, environmental, and aero sciences testing

Responsible to help execute all technical, cost, and schedule within the System Test Team for Specialty Test including EVMS & CAM leadership

Day to day management execution of operations that integrate highly effective, competitively priced, low risk test plans and execution solutions

Aid with implementing a high performance development team which will include engineering, technical colleagues and trained technicians that assure products are developed and final deliveries meet all negotiated requirements

Assess productivity, goals, objectives and customer satisfaction and manage all aspects of specialty test, material procurement, as well as, lab and test range integration

Customer coordination for both baseline SOW execution and future growth

Provide timely resource forecasts to IPT/functional organizations and assures proper staffing is in place to execute the SOW, while maintaining an integrated schedule

Drive process rigor, and ensures compliance to meet company, program and security requirements

Work to continually improve culture of our programs and management excellence

Collaborate with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (metrics collection and analysis, etc.)

Support the annual salary review and promotion process

Mentor and develop the next generation of technical and project leadership

Improve and enforce test engineering processes and procedures

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or  Aviation Business Management discipline from an accredited university

Minimum 9 years of experience in at least one of the following: Operations, Systems development experience; COTS hardware, instrumentation systems, logistics, integration, and/or test

Minimum 3 year of Leadership experience as a Lead or Manager of staff

Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  A current Top Secret/SCI level security clearance

  Program access

  Experience with SIT&E processes and procedures to support both management and engineering tasks

  Experience in managing geographically disperse teams

  Familiarity with current programs across NGC AS Sector

  Master’s or PhD Degree in STEM

  Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
