**Job Description:**
**Overall Purpose:**
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions, ensuring efficient delivery processes and reliable production support. Emphasis is placed on automation and adherence to industry best practices.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities:**
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ **Design, Development, and Coding:** Design and implement software applications using various programming languages and development methodologies. (Software Engineers are expected to be hands-on in both designing and coding applications.)
+ **Collaboration and Communication:** Gather and review software requirements, provide effort estimates, create design specifications, and collaborate with engineers and architects to assess and validate hardware and software interactions.
+ **Testing and Debugging:** Develop and execute automated test plans, validate test environments and data, design and implement code fixes, and generate relevant reports.
+ **Maintenance and Support:** Troubleshoot and resolve application configuration and environment issues to ensure smooth operation.
+ **Deployment:** Facilitate and support the deployment of software applications into production environments.
**Job Contribution:**
A skilled professional with a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and organizational practices, typically working on smaller-scale projects. Exercises independent judgment and initiative in the absence of established guidelines or policies. Works under minimal supervision, making decisions that impact efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Interacts primarily within the department and across various teams.
**Education and Experience:**
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required. Certifications may be required for certain specialties.
