Overall Purpose: Provide advanced legal support by performing a wide variety of law-related tasks—including legal research, document drafting, legislative review and issue vetting, and case management—under the direction of attorneys or a supervising paralegal.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Legal Research and Document Preparation: Conduct in-depth legal research, analyze legal information, and draft various legal documents—including memos, presentations, testimony, pleadings, motions, and reports—under the direction of attorneys.
Case Management and Support: Assist attorneys in preparing for regulatory dockets, hearings and corporate meetings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, expedite consumer complaints, and coordinating with witnesses.
Administrative Support: Provide office administrative support as needed, including managing calendars and shared documents, and handling correspondence
Regulatory Proceedings: Coordinate with lawyers, clients and external parties to gather information, manage dockets, provide updates, and support case progress.
Legislative Support and Compliance: Support our governmental affairs clients and their stakeholders in managing the review and analysis of state legislation. Provide support for compliance with the political engagement process.
Compliance and Recordkeeping: Ensure legal documents and processes comply with applicable laws and regulations, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of legal transactions and activities.
Job Contribution: Applies solid knowledge of fundamental concepts and organizational practices while working on smaller projects. Exercises judgment in the absence of prescribed guidelines to determine appropriate action. Works under minimal supervision with independent judgment. Skilled Microsoft ® product suite, comfortable using and exploring technology for ethical, efficient work production. Actions impact efficiency and costs. Interacts primarily within the department and across various teams.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) preferred. 1+ years of related experience preferred. Paralegal certification preferred.
Our Specialist Paralegal earns between $93,400 and $140,200 USD annually—not to mention the other rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on experience, expertise, and education/training. This position requires office presence at our San Francisco, California location. No relocation offered.
