**About the Role:** **Grade Level (for internal use):** 08 **S&P Global Corporate** **The Role:** Specialist, EMEA Payroll Accounting (Record to Report) **Location:** Ahmedabad, India **The Team** : Be part of a global record to report team and collaborate with domestic and international retained staff; third parties; All global business units; Technology teams & Controller’s organization focusing on achieving team / company objectives. **The Impact:** The EMEA Payroll Accounting Specialist (Reporting to Manager, GL Controls, Record to Report **)** is responsible for the end to end accounting of payroll for all EMEA entities where S&P Global (SPGI) payroll is processed. The role ensures that payroll transactions are accurately reflected in the General Ledger, supports month end close, performs balance sheet reconciliations, and maintains strict SOX compliance. The specialist works closely with internal payroll teams, country controllers, external auditors, and vendors to deliver reliable financial reporting and drive continuous improvement. **What’s in it for you:** + Opportunity to be part of S&P Global, a growing global organization that powers the markets of the future. + Be part of a global record to report team and collaborate with domestic and international retained staff; third parties; Intercompany; Business finance, Controllers, AP & OTC teams, and all global business units focusing on achieving team / company objectives. + To work in the latest cutting edge technologies including our initiatives into automation. **Key Responsibilities & Impact:** + Analyzepayroll reports from the SPGI payroll team and verify that every transaction is correctly posted to the company’s General Ledger for all EMEA countries. + Review payroll balance‑sheet accounts for unusual activity; collaborate with local country controllers to prepare and book necessary journal entries, ensuring accounting accuracy for reporting. + Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations for payroll‑related accounts (net‑pay clearing, tax/social liabilities, pension, benefits, inter‑company payroll, FX revaluation where applicable). + Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close for Business Units and Global Controllers, including accruals recording and reporting to EMEA Controllership. + Prepare and classify journal entries needed to clear reconciliations and resolve variances. + Provide ad‑hoc support for Record‑to‑Report (R2R) projects as assigned by team leads. + Liaise with external auditors on any ad‑hoc requests and ensure audit readiness. + Back‑fill and support other accountants in the team during peak periods or absences. + Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort. **Core Competencies &** **Behavioral** **Attributes:** + **Excellent communication**  – Strong written and verbal skills to interact with internal employees, external vendors, andthird partypartners at all levels. + **Analytical problem** **s** **olving**  – Ability toanalyzeissues quickly, resolve them efficiently, andmaintainSOX compliance. + **Global collaboration**  – Comfortable working with diverse, geographically dispersed teams worldwide. + **High accuracy & workload management**  – Precise attention to detail, understanding ofendtoendpayroll processes, and ability to meet tight deadlines. + **Independent & accountable**  – Works autonomously, takes ownership of tasks, and knows when to escalate matters to management. + **Multi** **tasking in** **fast** **paced** **environments**  – Handles several priorities simultaneously without compromising quality. + **Leadership & initiative**  – Motivated to achieveobjectives; willing to lead projects and initiatives whenrequired. + **Flexibility**  – Adaptable to changing business needs, especially during critical periods (e.g.,monthend, audit windows). **Required Qualifications:** • **Experience:** 2-4 years of payroll and benefits accounting and reconciliation experience required • **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • **Technical Skills :** + Strong knowledge of GL accounting, accruals, and reconciliations. + Proficiencyin ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Finance) + Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, andWord • **Compliance:** Demonstrated experience working in a SOX controlled environment and ensuring regulatory compliance. • Must be willing to work in the Ahmedabad office and amenable to work in EMEA hours. **Shift Time** : EMEA Hours (2 PM to 11 PM) flexible is required. **What’s In It For** **You?** **Our Mission:** Advancing Essential Intelligence. **Our People:** We're more than 35,000 strong worldwide—so we're able to understand nuances while having a broad perspective.
