The Department of Corrections is hiring a Special Education/Adult Basic Education Teacher at the St. Cloud facility! This position will provide literacy, English Language Learning, secondary credential, post-secondary preparation, and/or other adult basic education (ABE) instruction in a well-managed and comprehensive instructional environment to support Incarcerated Person (IP) Personal Education Plans. They will develop and use curriculum based on state ABE standards and integrate methods of instruction – to include whole class, small group and individual instruction – to serve all types of learners and learning styles. To assess, monitor and record IP progress and to direct teaching assistants and IP tutors to promote effective IP learning. To plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. They will create a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports. They will also serve as the special education case manager for an assigned case load, ensuring that due process procedures and timelines comply with federal and state regulations, as directed by the DOC Director of Special Education. This position is located at a correctional facility and has direct contact with students who are incarcerated. **Minimum Qualifications** To be qualified for and considered for this position, ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. + Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
