Northrop Grumman Space Systems Payload and Ground Systems Division in Linthicum, Maryland is seeking a Staff-level Systems Engineer to be the Flatsat Technical Lead for a Space RADAR Payload program.
The Flatsat is a Space RADAR Payload simulator used for Flight Software Integration and Test (FSW I&T). The Flatsat Tech lead will assemble, integrate, and test the Flatsat hardware, consisting of 3 - 4 electrical test racks containing COTS (commercial-of-the-shelf) RF (Radio Frequency) measurement equipment, e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc., 5 flight-like ESA (Electronical Scanned Array) panel emulators, bus (space vehicle) emulator, processor emulator or flight processor, and flight-like cables; and then own/host/operate the Flatsat to support FSW I&T.
The main responsibilities are the tracking and coordinating with the EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment)/hardware CAMs (Cost Account Managers) to plan around the receiving of hardware items for activities for I&T, e.g., planning/storyboarding/etc., leading the work to put it together and get the basic FSW and FW (Firmware) up and running and all interfaces checked out to ensure the HW (Hardware) is operational, and then support to FSW team regularly while they are debugging and building out their additional capabilities. Primary activity for the Flatsat is for it to serve as a Flight software test bed and prove out the ESA panel group to panel group interfaces.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 12 years of relevant experience; or 10 years with MS
RF engineering and RF I&T experience
Test planning and test procedure development
United States Citizenship
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
