**Hospital Food and Nutrition ER Associate**
**Job Description**
Candidates will be working as an ER Liaison, a vital communication link between the Emergency Room and the hospital kitchen. This role ensures that patients in the ER receive timely, accurate and appropriate meals based on their dietary needs and restrictions. The liaison is responsible for collecting patient meal orders, verifying dietary requirements, communicating with kitchen and ER staff, and delivering meals in a professional and compassionate manner.
This role is essential in ensuring that those in the ER are felt cared for during such a sensitive and stressful time. The ideal candidate should understand the seriousness of the ER and hospital environment and will bring a soft touch and calming demeanor to every interaction, helping make someone's day just a little bit better.
**Responsibilities**
+ Move between the ER and the kitchen with sensitivity and professionalism.
+ Provide menu guidance based on dietary limitations and hospital protocols.
+ Accurately records meal orders and dietary needs.
+ Input orders in the hospital's food service system or communicate directly with kitchen staff.
+ Ensure timely transmission of orders to and from the kitchen.
+ Act as a liaison between ER staff and kitchen personnel.
+ Report any issues or changes in orders that may affect meal service.
+ Follow all hospital infection control and food safety guidelines.
+ Ensure proper sanitation of food carts and delivery equipment.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1.5+ years in the food service industry
+ Lead or management experience preferred
+ Ability to lift 50lbs and push 100lbs
+ Customer service oriented
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to work primarily independently.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a hospital where candidates will primarily work in the kitchen and the ER. Appearance and general hygiene are very important. Candidates must adhere to a professional dress code, which includes no facial piercings, covering tattoos, and no heavy fragrances. The shifts are either 6:30 AM to 3 PM or 12:30 PM to 9 PM, with rotation working every other weekend.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $18.50/hr.
