Job Title: Sous Chef - Residential DiningJob Description

The Sous Chef for Residential Dining plays a pivotal role in managing day-to-day culinary operations within a large multi-concept dining facility. Working under the direction of the Chef de Cuisine and General Manager, the Sous Chef is responsible for leading production efforts while ensuring compliance with established policies, recipes, and production standards.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Unit Manager to implement goals and objectives.Maintain the department's vision, values, and priorities, ensuring alignment within the unit.Monitor attendance and adjust staffing to meet daily production needs.Direct food production and assign tasks for kitchen staff.Ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and procedures.Lead and convene production meetings.Instruct staff on safe food handling practices.Maintain visibility and accessibility for customers, building managers, and staff.Direct staff on unit operation policies and procedures.Ensure adherence to sanitation, safety, and other kitchen safety programs.Establish and maintain inventory par levels to minimize waste.Manage inventory from ordering to utilization, including vendor communication.Ensure displays, freezers, and prep areas are clean and meet health standards.Conduct in-service training on unit safety, food safety, and customer service.Identify and correct unsafe conditions and practices.Monitor food preparation and production areas for neatness and safety.Seek quality improvements in recipes through testing and execution.Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure recipes meet business plan requirements.Conduct training and mentorship for culinary staff, including hands-on guidance.
Essential SkillsExperience as a line cook or similar culinary role.Strong leadership abilities to guide and mentor a diverse team.Knowledge of food safety and kitchen safety protocols.Excellent organizational and inventory management skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a multi-concept dining facility is preferred.Ability to collaborate effectively with culinary staff and management.Strong focus on culinary results and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
