Ad Platforms is responsible for Disney’s industry-leading ad technology and products – driving advertising performance, innovation, and value in Disney’s sports, news, and entertainment content, across all media platforms.

The Ad Platforms Technical Operations team is looking for a motivated Data Analytics / Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Engineer, to be responsible for the day-to-day operations in our Data & BI channel. The ideal candidate will have experience operationalizing advertising data to resolve complex delivery issues and optimize the advertising pipeline. You will need proven leadership skills, a sense of urgency, experience with critical service operations, and the ability to problem-solve in high-volume, production environments. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-enthusiast to join the fast-paced, talented professionals on the Ad Platform team.

Responsibilities

Ensure monitoring and alerting on production services are in place, and assist in the resolution of production incidentsTriage and troubleshoot operational issues, and provide Tier 2/3 supportDeliver on channel-specific key perfor­­mance metrics (KPM) to track channel health and growthDevelop strong partnerships with ad sales, business intelligence, engineering, product management, and analytics leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical channel objectivesMaintain detailed operational documentation for both internal and external consumptionSuggest optimization and growth strategies, help manage key development milestones and deployments, and monitor effectivenessAnalyze and communicate the impact of key strategy, market, or product changes

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of relevant data analytics, business intelligence, or data science experience – preferably with a digital media or digital advertising company­­Strong SQL experience including writing/optimizing complex queries and using big data technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Hive, Presto, Spark) on medium to large-scale data setsExperience writing and maintaining data pipelines and working with data at scaleExpert level knowledge in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScriptExperience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Apache AirflowDemonstrated experience working with business intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Databricks, Qlik, etc.Conceptually familiar in data observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, etc.Experience in working with large datasets (Terabytes or more)Experience delivering products in an agile software development environment including sprint work in JiraExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and partner across multiple teams and organizationsDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and unacquainted audiencesStrong presentation and documentation skills including experience working with Confluence, PowerPoint, and LucidChartStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsEnjoy working collaboratively with a talented group of people to tackle challenging business problems so we all succeed (or fail fast) as a team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with digital advertising systems and ecosystemsExperience managing Financial Systems and/or building Financial reportsExperience using data analytics to triage and troubleshoot advertising workflowsExperience with network topologies, systems architecture overviews, and entity -relationship diagrams (ERD)

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, related technical fields, or equivalent experienceThe hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Glendale, CA is $106,900 to $143,300 per year and in New York City, NY and Seattle, WA is $112,000 to $150,100. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
