Acentra Health is looking for a Solutions Architect Specialist to join our growing team.

 

Job Summary

The Product Engineer specialist/ Solution Architect at Acentra Health is responsible for driving the technical design, development, and evolution of enterprise healthcare products supporting Medicaid, claims processing, managed care, enrollment, and related services. This role provides hands-on technical leadership while defining scalable, compliant, and interoperable solution architectures aligned with federal and state healthcare regulations, business outcomes, and long-term product strategy.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Product Engineering (Specialist Level)

Lead the design, development, and delivery of healthcare product features across the full SDLC.Translate complex healthcare requirements (claims, eligibility, managed care, encounters, pricing, edits) into scalable technical solutions.Provide technical leadership and code-level guidance to engineering teams, ensuring quality, consistency, and best practices.Partner closely with Product, QA, Release, and Operations teams to ensure predictable, compliant releases.Drive defect resolution, root-cause analysis, and production support for critical healthcare workflows.Champion performance, security, accessibility, and data integrity across products.

Solution Architecture

Define and own end-to-end solution architectures across claims, managed care, enrollment, pricing, integrations, and data platformsDesign secure, scalable integrations with internal systems, state partners, vendors, and external services (APIs, batch, messaging)Ensure architectural alignment with CMS, HIPAA, state-specific regulations, and Acentra Health enterprise standardsCreate and maintain architecture diagrams, design artifacts, and technical decision recordsReview designs and implementations to ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and reuse across programs

Regulatory & Healthcare Compliance

Ensure solutions meet healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS guidelines, state policies)Support audit readiness by ensuring traceability between requirements, designs, and implementationsCollaborate with compliance, security, and privacy teams to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to standards

Leadership & Collaboration

Act as a technical leader and mentor, guiding engineers and promoting knowledge sharingDrive cross-team alignment across Product Engineering, Architecture, QA, Release, and Program teamsCommunicate technical risks, trade-offs, and dependencies clearly to leadership and stakeholdersSupport readiness testing, demos, and stakeholder reviews to ensure business and client confidenceProactively identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and drive them to resolution Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or 6 years' experience in lieu of degree)15+ years of overall engineering experience3+ years in a lead or architecture-focused roleStrong experience in healthcare systems, preferably Medicaid, claims processing, or managed care platformsExpertise in enterprise application development, integrations, and data workflowsStrong understanding of Agile delivery, SDLC, and DevOps practices in regulated environments 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with state Medicaid programs or healthcare payer systemsCloud and platform experience (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)Familiarity with healthcare data standards and integrationsExperience supporting large-scale, multi-program product implementationsPrior experience influencing architecture across multiple teams or products

"Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicant’s position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level."


Pay Range

USD $127,760.00 - USD $159,700.00 /Yr.
