Solution Designer

We’re looking for a Solution Designer to help shape the future of our products within the Sage Business Cloud ecosystem. In this role, you’ll act as the bridge between product strategy, user insight, technical understanding, and delivery. You’ll ensure we design solutions that resolve real customer challenges, navigate complex business scenarios, and meet compliance and legislative requirements, all while delivering intuitive and elegant user experiences.
You’ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, XD designers, researchers, and stakeholders across the business to translate user needs and business rules into coherent, scalable, and high-impact product solutions. This is a key role in turning strategic intent into actionable journeys, flows, and requirements that drive measurable value for our users.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office in our Barcelona office.
First 90 Days
• 30 days
- Get immersed in our product suite, user base, and problem domain.
- Understand existing user journeys, key business rules, compliance landscapes, and technical constraints.
- Learn the team’s workflows, discovery practices, and design artefacts.
• 60 days
-Begin leading solution design work for upcoming initiatives.
-Work directly with cross-functional teams to structure uncertainty, validate requirements, and provide clear process flows, wireframes, and rationale that support backlog definition.
• 90 days
- Fully own end-to-end solution design for one or more product areas.
- Drive alignment across Product, XD, Engineering, and stakeholders.
- Actively influence roadmap direction through insight into user needs, legislation, business constraints, and technical considerations.
Meet the Team
You’ll work in a collaborative, user-centred, cross-functional environment alongside product managers, experience designers, user researchers, developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders.

How Success Will Be Measured
• Delivery of clear, accurate, and unambiguous solution design artefacts that enable efficient and high-quality implementation
• Consistent collaboration with product, XD, and engineering to define scope, priorities, and user-centred outcomes
• Ability to transform ambiguity and conflicting information into coherent solution proposals backed by rationale
• Impact on product direction through legislative insight, business analysis, and user-driven problem framing
• Contribution to smooth delivery cycles through structured backlog input and alignment across teams
Skills You’ll Gain
