What you will do:

Design, modernize, and refactor global counter and rental systems using modular, cloud-native, API-driven architecturesOwn solution architecture across all domains including application, data, integration, networking, security, and resiliencyDefine and maintain solution blueprints, reference architectures, and standards for counter and rental platformsEstablish a clear end-state architecture for areas of responsibility and drive stakeholder alignment and buy-inEnsure architectures can be delivered incrementally, on time and within budget, without compromising the long-term target stateLead architectural design and review for initiatives spanning:Counter and agent workflowsOffline / degraded-mode operationsMulti-brand and franchise configurationsCountry-specific regulatory requirementsWork hands-on with engineering teams across the full SDLC, including design sessions, code reviews, and technical decision-makingPartner closely with Enterprise Architecture to align with broader platform and integration strategiesDefine API, integration, and event models connecting counter systems with reservations, fleet, payments, identity, pricing, and customer platformsDrive modernization using incremental transformation patterns (strangler, abstraction, coexistence)Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and availability standardsParticipate in the design and planning of enhancements to existing platforms and development of new capabilitiesAdvise business and technology stakeholders on architectural tradeoffs and recommendationsInterpret and refine business requirements using workshops, design sessions, prototyping, and modelingUnderstand and document system dependencies, integration points, and data flows across the rental ecosystemCreate and maintain architecture documentation including solution designs, technical specifications, and release artifacts

Collaborate with Operations leaders, Program Directors, and Vendors to solve complex cross-functional challenges

 

What We're Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldMaster’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience10+ years of experience in information technology5+ years in a Solution Architect / Systems Architect role supporting large-scale enterprise platformsProven experience across full project lifecycles including:Requirements definitionArchitecture and solution designPrototypingImplementation and rolloutStrong experience with cloud-native application architectures (microservices, event-driven systems, serverless)Extensive experience designing and implementing API-based integrations using REST and SOAP, with JSON and XMLExperience with transactional, high-availability systems (retail, travel, hospitality, or mobility preferred)Familiarity with counter, POS, or agent-assisted systems is highly desirableExperience designing for offline-first or degraded-mode scenariosStrong understanding of system integrations using APIs, messaging, batch, and streaming patternsExperience working in Agile / Scrum environmentsHands-on familiarity with modern web and data technologies (SQL, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON)Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence delivery teams
