Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Manager with expertise in solar projects to lead renewable energy construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction project management, focusing specifically on photovoltaic systems. This role involves overseeing projects that deliver energy savings for various clients, including public, institutional, government, and commercial customers.
+ Provide daily construction, administrative, and technical management of renewable construction projects.
+ Assist the Project Manager with project accounting, budgeting, scheduling, quality management, and communications.
+ Ensure compliance with financial policies, including revenue recognition and project setup rules.
+ Serve as a liaison between the business office and operations.
+ Manage customer service, relationships, and contractual obligations with clients.
+ Assist in project design and development, including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation, and scheduling.
+ Monitor project performance and cost estimates to forecast estimates through to project completion.
+ Review subcontractor and vendor bids to determine scope, schedule, and delivery for project materials and services.
+ Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and within budget.
+ Directly manage site supervisors to ensure quality control and timely project delivery.
+ Maintain and update project schedules, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding items.
+ Provide a detailed 2-week look-ahead schedule for customer coordination and planning.
+ Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting processes.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, practices, and codes.
+ Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
+ Minimum of five years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction project management focusing on renewable energy projects, especially photovoltaic systems.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Proven experience with OSHA safety standards and project management regulations.
+ Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
+ Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
+ Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
+ Progress towards or completion of engineering, technical, or industry-related education is preferred.
+ Experience with energy efficiency disciplines such as direct digital energy controls, variable frequency drives, and renewable energy technology.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and foster positive business relationships.
+ Knowledge of AZ solar systems.
Work Environment
The selected Construction Manager will work under the Project Manager at 22 different sites in Arizona. The role involves overseeing electrical and structural subcontractors, focusing on ground mounts (4.5 megawatt) and carports. The position operates on a first shift schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The project is expected to last a year or more, with one interview round with the hiring manager and project manager. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
