As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls, you serve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Carry out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives
Job responsibilities
Executes creative security solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems. Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language and addresses basic code quality issues. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Analyzes metric visualizations for continuous improvement of software applications and their monitoring. Actively applies automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life Cycle. Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers Supports the adoption of engineering best practices within your team to achieve resiliency Participates in continuity-related awareness, training and educational activities, and exercises.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplinesFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Proficiency to code in Java and Spring. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a scalable environment Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline Basic knowledge of industry-wide technology trends, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExposure to cloud technologies Monitoring Tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana)
