Software Integration Engineer
**Key Responsibilities** + Design, develop, and implement integration components and services across enterprise systems. + Build and support integrations using NPHIES standards, CHI HIDP, IA Data Hub, and similar healthcare or regulatory platforms. + Develop healthcare integrations aligned with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standards. + Ensure secure integration design following OWASP guidelines and industry best practices. + Implement strong API Security, including authentication, authorization, encryption, throttling, and threat protection. + Build, manage, and optimize services running behind an API Gateway (Kong, Apigee, WSO2, Azure APIM). + Participate actively in application development, contributing code, reviewing code, and ensuring alignment with engineering and architectural standards. + Work within Agile/Scrum delivery teams ensuring collaborative and iterative delivery. + Partner with SecDevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure deployment practices. + Support SIT, UAT, performance testing, and production deployments ensuring accurate end‑to‑end data flow. + Troubleshoot integration issues, monitor performance, and optimize integrations for scalability, resilience, and reliability. + Maintain up‑to‑date documentation including interface specifications, mapping sheets, and API definitions. + Implement and manage containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, and related orchestration technologies. + Design and support event‑driven architectures using messaging, streaming platforms, and asynchronous integration patterns. **Qualification and Skills:** + Bachelor’s Degree in IT + 7+ years of experience in Application Development, Integration Engineering, Backend Development, or System‑to‑System Integrations **Technical Skills** + Backend Development: C#, .NET Core, Java, Python + Frontend (added value): React, TypeScript + Databases: Oracle DB, SQL Server, Redis (caching), MongoDB / PostgreSQL (NoSQL) + ORM & Data Access: Entity Framework Core, Dapper, ADO.NET, PL/SQL (Oracle), LINQ-to-SQL + Messaging & Streaming: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus + Logging & Monitoring: ELK Stack, Serilog, Application Insights + Web & Infrastructure: NGINX (reverse proxy), IIS (legacy), REST APIs, gRPC + SecDevOps & CI/CD: Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes + Cloud Platforms : Azure (App Services, Functions, Key Vault, Storage, Service Bus), GCP + Architecture & Engineering: Microservices, Clean Architecture, DDD, SOLID Principles + Security: OAuth2, Auth0, OpenID Connect, Azure AD, IdentityServer, Okta SSO + AI & Developer Productivity: AI-powered coding assistants, code generation tools + Tools & Practices: Jira, ServiceNow, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Code Reviews, Documentation, Communication, Problem Solving **Competencies** + Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. + Solid understanding of secure development and integration practices. + Excellent communication and collaboration within cross‑functional Agile teams. + High attention to detail and commitment to quality engineering standards. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Demonstrate ability to take ownership of complex integration solutions from design to production. + Strong capability to translate business requirements into scalable integration designs. + Ability to challenge requirements and propose better technical alternatives. + Strong focus on automation, performance tuning, and continuous improvement across DevOps, integration flows, and development processes. + Passion for ongoing learning in emerging technologies such as event‑driven systems, cloud-native architecture, and API security frameworks. **About The Cigna Group** Doing something meaningful starts with a simple decision, a commitment to changing lives.
