Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking candidates for the position of Software Engineering Manager 2 to support Joint All Domain Command & Control (JADC2) program under the Air Dominance Division.  This position is on site in Melbourne, Florida. 

This is a dual-role technical manager position. Management duties will require tasking and coordination of approximately 8-12 engineers, and process and resource co‐ordination with functional homeroom management. The manager will also be expected to perform technical work on programs. It is anticipated that given the size of the functional team, the split between program and functional duties will be approximately 80/20, on average.

The candidate will work with the Architect and Software Lead to design supporting Next-Generation Mission Systems. The candidate should have experience in developing software on an agile focused team and is knowledgeable of the software development lifecycle and be able to work independently.

We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision.  This is a new program as such, you must be comfortable working in an environment where things are not fully defined.  You will often need to make/document assumptions and develop approaches based on those assumptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Software managers will provide technical and staffing support to programs:

Participate in software development in support of Research and Advanced Design programsDesign, develop, and document software for mission planning solutionsCollaborate with the Chief Architect and Lead Systems Engineer to build and test OMS tools, services, and bridges?Generate and present material to support internal and external customer briefings

Software managers also manages a group of up to 15 direct reports:

Set attainable goals.Execute performance reviews.Guide the employees regarding career development.Support teams or individuals to improve performance and achieve goals through coaching and mentoring.Provide Flowdown and direction from upper management and the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a STEM Master’s Degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development.Experience developing software with C/C++/Python/Java Experience with UCI Schema and CAL development Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
