Software Engineer (Secret Clearance Required)

OverviewA leading engineering services provider supporting advanced U.S. Army aviation programs is seeking Software Engineers to join a mission-critical avionics development team. These roles support a next-generation vertical lift aircraft program focused on modernizing military aviation capabilities.This is a fully on-site role in Owego, NY.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, integrate, and test software for safety- and mission-critical avionics systemsImplement algorithms and features within C/C++ applicationsDesign, debug, and validate real-time embedded softwareCollaborate with cross-functional hardware and systems engineering teamsSupport documentation, defect resolution, and performance verificationAssist with certification efforts and compliance to safety standards
Required QualificationsU.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. passportActive DoD Secret clearance (clearable candidates considered, preference for active clearance)Residence in New York StateBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field2+ years of software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in C++ (C and/or Python a plus)Experience working in Agile development environmentsExperience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Preferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsAvionics, mission systems, or cockpit systems experienceFACE technical standards for reusable softwareSoftware product line developmentModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), preferably CAMEOExperience with Git, Docker, command-line scripting, and WiresharkRTOS experience such as VxWorksIntegration and test of avionics software and operational flight programs
