As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceDesigns, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implicationsApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automationApplies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexityGathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application developmentLearns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systemsAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceHands-on experience in UI/front-end development, experience in UI/UX technologies. Translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality code.Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Extensive experience with JavaScript frameworks.Experience with UI testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.).Experience build web applications modern component librariesExperience across the whole Software Development Life CycleExposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityEmerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around themUnderstanding of ReactJS, REST APIs. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plusComponent Libraries such as Material, Ant or Chakra. UI Lifecycle and State management

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and build tools. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
