As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology Division, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDesign, develop, and maintain responsive user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, ensuring readability and long-term sustainability.Create engaging, market-disrupting digital experiences and services.Work closely with design, accessibility, and platform teams to ensure UI consistency and excellence.Apply agile methodologies and use collaborative tools for effective teamwork and knowledge sharing.Implement and maintain unit and UI tests to ensure reliability and performance.Participate in code reviews to improve quality and share knowledge.Assist with project releases and ensure smooth deployments.Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceAdvanced proficiency in JavaScript and React (Vue or Angular experience also considered).Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.Production experience with TypeScript.Familiarity with frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, npm).Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and handling asynchronous data.Strong design sensibility and attention to visual detail.Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar).Proficiency with Git version control. Commitment to writing well-structured, clean code.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with design systems or component libraries (e.g., Material Design).Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments (AWS). Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA).Understanding of design patterns, modular architecture, and dependency injection.Experience working with Figma designs.Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (e.g., Microsoft Co-Pilot, Cursor, Claude Code).
