Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceExperience in developing and maintaining applications using COBOL, DB2, CICS,IMS DC/DB ensuring robust and efficient mainframe solutions, and follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure structured and efficient software development processes.Develop and manage CICS (Customer Information Control System) applications for transaction processing in mainframe environments .Knowledge on IMS (Information Management System) for hierarchical database management and transaction processing in mainframe environments.Design and optimize databases using DB2, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.Deep knowledge on  Schedule and monitor batch jobs using CA7, ensuring timely and efficient execution of critical business processesHands on with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) for efficient data storage and retrieval in mainframe environments.Experience with Change Man/Endeavor for version control and change management, supporting efficient deployment .Utilize REXX for scripting and automation, enhancing productivity and efficiency in mainframe operations.Implement ZOS Connect API for integrating mainframe applications with modern web and mobile applications.Manage source code and version control using GIT, facilitating collaborative development and code management.
