As a Software Engineer III - Java/AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking - Agency Securities Finance Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelop secure, high-quality production code, maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems, and review and debug written code by others Optimize backend applications for maximum speed, reliability, and scalabilityDrive adoption of best practices in software development and AI integration, maintaining high standards of quality, security, and efficiency.Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs and collaborate with technical Leads and Architects for new products.Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdd to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal Training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more object-oriented languages, including Java 17+ with Spring BootAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityExperience building enterprise applications with high availability and performance using Java, Spring, Kafka, EKS, Distributed CacheExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Practical cloud native experience
