As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global ESX Infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to advance your career by supporting large-scale enterprise systems. You will help build and run reliable, scalable, and secure ESX virtualization platforms, combining software and systems engineering to deliver creative solutions and promote operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

 

Job responsibilities

Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environmentsAnalyze system performance and implement optimization strategies for ESX hosts and virtual machinesSet up and manage monitoring tools and alerting systems to proactively address issuesEnsure ESX environments adhere to security policies and compliance requirementsAdd to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectMonitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environmentsRespond to and resolve incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures

Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and remediation tasks

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceStrong experience with VMware ESX/ESXi and vCF administration and troubleshootingProficient in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShellHands-on experience with incident management and troubleshooting in large-scale environmentsSolid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization conceptsFamiliarity with Agile development processes and automated testingExperience with monitoring tools such as vRealize Log Insight or vRealize Aria Operations

Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutionsKnowledge of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelinesStrong communication and documentation skillsExposure to financial services or regulated environments
