Software Engineer III- Databricks, Python, GIT, CI/CD

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsDesign, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, focusing on Databricks integration and adoptionBuild and maintain data pipelines using Databricks, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing for internal teamsWrite secure, high-quality production code in Python and participate in code reviews and debuggingImplement and support CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and improve operational stabilityCollaborate with internal teams to provide guidance and best practices for Databricks usage

Participate in team discussions and activities to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExhibit proficiency in Python programmingBuild and maintain data pipelines using DatabricksApply practical experience with CI/CD tools and automation methodsDemonstrate familiarity with agile development practices, application resiliency, and securityProficient in coding in one or more languagesExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

 

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Leverage experience with AWS services such as S3, EMR, Glue, ECS/EKS, and AthenaAttain certifications in AWS, Databricks, or automation toolsApply exposure to open table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake) and data catalog tools (AWS Glue Data Catalog)Demonstrate interest in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or mobile development
