As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Chase Travel Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on AWS Cloud concepts and 3+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more languagesExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleExperience with AWS Cloud services, including compute, storage, databases, networking, application integration, monitoring, alerting, and Identity & Access Management.
Proficient in Infrastructure as Code, with hands-on experience in CloudFormation/Terraform and Configuration Management using Chef/Ansible.
Skilled in container orchestration using Kubernetes
Experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Aerospike, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Couchbase, and experienced in central logging and monitoring using ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or Circle CI, and proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ruby.
Basic understanding of Application/Web servers (Apache/Nginx), REST/SOAP APIs, distributed systems, and with AWS security services and serverless application design.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledgeable in Network Security, Security Architecture, and Secured SDLC practices.Familiarity with modern front-end technologiesExposure to cloud technologiesDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)AWS and Kubernetes certifications, and experience in a product organization.
