About the Team
As part of Walmart’s Stride Transportation Platform team, you will work with some of the brightest engineers and architects to solve large-scale, mission-critical transportation challenges that power Walmart’s global supply chain.
We are building next-generation Transportation Planning, Optimization, Execution, and Yard Automation platforms that support Walmart’s end-to-end supply chain network. Our systems optimize freight movement across suppliers, distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and stores—moving millions of shipments every year.
By improving transportation forecasting, routing, carrier optimization, and capacity planning, we:
Reduce transportation costs
Improve on-time delivery
Lower carbon emissions
Ensure products reach customers and stores reliably
The scale—millions of routes, thousands of facilities, real-time constraints, and dynamic conditions—makes this one of the most complex and impactful logistics engineering problems in the world.
If you’re excited about building distributed systems with real-world impact at massive scale, we’d love to talk to you.
What you’ll do
Be part of a high-performing engineering team building enterprise-scale transportation platforms
Write efficient, high-quality, and scalable code that operates at Walmart’s transportation scale
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of features: design, development, implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment
Collaborate closely with architects and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) goals and architectural standards
Establish and promote engineering best practices and operational excellence
Communicate effectively with stakeholders across product, engineering, and operations
Learn and work with transportation domain data, including shipments, routes, carriers, lanes, costs, service levels, and capacity constraints
Own business stories from concept to production, including QA and post-release support
Participate in on-call rotations to support critical transportation systems
Research, learn, and adopt new technologies to improve platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Participate in innovation initiatives and hackathons to explore next-generation transportation capabilities
Adhere to company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
