Position: Software Engineer III 

 

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 

 

Duties: Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Understand the Business/Stakeholder/Technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing solutions to address the needs (in case of agile methodology, for the iteration). Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/module/simple requirements (for example: based on scalability etc.) (For agile methodology). Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Create/configure minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages (E.g. JavaScript, Python, C# etc.), development standards and tools (E.g. Monday.com, Linx, Embold etc.) for software coding/configuration. Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process (as applicable). Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices. Map the customer requirements in to test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component/module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics; Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible. Ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines. 

 

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area. 

 

Skills required: Experience provisioning public cloud infrastructure using Terraform. Experience provisioning services under Google Cloud Platform with one of the following tools: Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Shared VPC, GCS, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), or Cloud Build. Experience working on configuring one of the following monitoring agents: Prometheus or Grafana. Experience in configuring CICD, Jenkins and monitoring applications using Prometheus and Grafana. Experience provisioning Kafka clusters for multiple teams. Experience configuring one of the following services using Terraform: Pub sub, Elastic search, log stash, or Kibana. Experience configuring Ingress and DNS for API based application. Experience implementing HAProxy for applications and configuring wire walls to protect internal applications. Experience configuring and managing HTTPS certificates in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience provisioning services under Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. Experience working on DataDog for configuring, monitoring and alerting. Experience configuring CICD using GitHub Actions for application and infrastructure delivery. Experience working on the infrastructure framework Atmos to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning. Experience automating cloud services utilizing Python and writing utility jobs. Experience migrating production applications to one of the following: Kubernetes or docker. Experience working on network migration and configuring cloud network on GCP and AWS. Experience with Rest API using one of the following software development tools: Flask, React JS, Ansible, MongoDB, or Robot framework. Demonstrated knowledge of Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Cloud Computing, Design Analysis and Algorithm, Python and C. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills. 

 

Salary Range: $184,827/year to $234,000/year.  Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
