As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Build infrastructure to support financial products at scale, ensuring operational stability and efficiency.Set up a data platform to complement the application platform, providing modern data services such as ingestion, querying, and governance.Assist teams in identifying their data needs and leveraging the platform effectively.Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient RESTful APIs using best practices on AWS platforms.Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability of software applications and systems.Collaborate with external partners, product teams, and business stakeholders to gather API requirements and ensure high-quality API performance and functionality.Implement security best practices for data transfer on cloud infrastructure.Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or resolve technical problems.Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met, and gather, analyze, and synthesize data for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceProficient in utilizing AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, IAM, Event Bridge) to design and deploy API-driven solutions, with a focus on cost-efficiency, scalability, and performance.Skilled in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.Experience in AWS-based API development using Python, with proficiency in RESTful API development and related tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.Strong hands-on experience with Typescript and ReactJS.Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within technical disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile.Proven experience in developing across all tiers of an application (middleware, integration, and database) and familiarity with design patterns.Expertise in best practices for data pipeline design, data architecture, and processing of structured and unstructured data.Experience in microservices architecture and development.Experience with AWS cloud monitoring tools like Datadog and CloudWatch.Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, with experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.

Familiarity with modern front-end technologiesExposure to cloud technologiesGood to have Kafka Experience and Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana Good to have Lake formation and Glue Experience Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.Experience in the financial domain is preferred.
