Software Engineer II
**About the Role** At Uber, we are building a Graph Engineering team to design, implement, and operate a next-generation graph platform. As a Software Engineer II, you will help build and maintain a large-scale graph infrastructure that powers critical business use cases and agentic AI experiences across the company. You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional partners in Product, AI/ML, Risk, Security, and Platforms to unlock the full potential of Uber’s connected data. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Design and implement new features for the Graph Platform at Uber. 2. Join on call rotation, driving continuous improvements on system availability, scalability, performance and efficiency. 3. Collaborate with other infrastructure teams, product teams and product managers to drive adoption and standardize processes, and to design and implement high impact, cross-product features. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. 2. 2+ years of professional software engineering experience 3. Proficient in one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, C/C++ or similar languages. 4. Experience in building large-scale distributed systems 5. Systematic problem-solving approach and knowledge of algorithms, data structures and complexity analysis. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. 3+ years of professional software engineering experience 2. Experience building and operating graph systems/databases (such as Neo4j) and Cypher-based or equivalent graph DSL 3. Experience with highly available/fault-tolerant, replicated data storage systems, large-scale data processing systems, or enterprise/cloud storage systems is also a strong plus For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
