Software Engineer II: Backend
**About the Role** As a Backend Software Engineer working on the Eats for Business team at Uber, you will build highly-performant, reliable products used by hundreds of millions of customers every day. You will collaborate with stakeholders within and across teams to build and maintain backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber. **What the Candidate Will Do** - Your technical expertise will have a direct impact on hundreds of millions of daily customer interactions - Own end to end delivery of features and systems - Collaborate with other Uber engineers to gather requirements and build for the future - Adapt to meet the needs of our massive scale and rapidly evolving systems - Write maintainable and extensible code with high quality tests and documentation **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field **OR** 1-year full-time Software Engineering work experience, **WHICH INCLUDES** 1-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: - Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go) **Preferred Qualifications** - Product engineering - Scalability engineering - Distributed systems For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
