As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking Technology's Securities Services Technology (SST) team, you will be actively involved in an agile team committed to the improvement, design, and delivery of advanced technology products securely, stably, and scalably. Being a crucial member of the software engineering team, your duties will encompass the execution of software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting of diverse components within a technical product, application, or system. Job responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceDesigns, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implicationsApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automationApplies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexityGathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application developmentLearns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systemsAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification of software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience in application development using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST, JMS, and JDBCBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalentHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExperience with unit testing, automated testing, and concepts of Test Driven DevelopmentExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesDemonstrable ability to code in one or more languagesExperience across the whole Software Development Life CycleExposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityEmerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Strong grasp of application resiliency and security principlesExposure to cloud technologies such as AWS
