As a Software Engineer I at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking Fraud Risk Technology team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components to the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an entry-level member of a software engineering team, you execute basic software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of a single technical area within a business function, while gaining skills and experience to grow within your role.

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceDesigns, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implicationsApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automationExecutes basic software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with peer guidanceInterprets architecture and design representations as well as nonfunctional requirements to develop secure, stable software against a defined architectureActively applies automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life CycleGathers, analyzes, and synthesizes basic data sets in service of technical troubleshooting and generating insights to drive continuous improvementsBreaks down routine technical tasks to troubleshoot and solve issuesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 2+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesDemonstrable ability to code in one or more languagesExperience across the whole Software Development Life CycleExposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityEmerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
