Actalent is hiring Hiring Software Engineers for a reputable company located around Owego, NY. Benefits and PTO are provided. This is a fully onsite job but company works 4/10s (off every Friday).

Description

Responsible for executing repeatable, auditable verification and validation (V&V) activities for safety‑critical embedded software to support compliance with applicable safety standards and system certification.

Responsibilities

Participate in kickoff and baseline reviews; align on tools, environments, and baseline artifacts.Review software requirements, design, and architecture for testability and compliance.Develop, execute, and report unit, integration, and system‑level tests, including functional, structural, boundary, stress, and fault‑injection testing.Perform static analysis, code reviews, and standards compliance checks; configure analysis tools, test frameworks, and CI pipelines.Maintain bi‑directional traceability across requirements, design, code, and tests using DOORS.Generate verification artifacts including test procedures, reports, defect logs, and certification evidence.Track defects through closure, perform root cause analysis, and provide regular test status reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience with embedded software verification and validation, preferably in safety‑critical domains.

Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and verification methodologies.

Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), defect tracking systems, and test automation frameworks.

Familiarity with static analysis tools, CI/CD pipelines, and coding standards compliance.

This is a Contract position based out of Owego, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
