The team values innovation, mentorship, and a collaborative culture that drives continuous improvement. **Your Impact** As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the AIOps platform, you will: + Develop core business logic and backend services,leveragingPython to buildhighly available, scalable APIs and microservices. + Apply Cisco Design Thinking Principles, focusing on simplification, secure coding, and exceptional user experience. + Collaborate with Large Model Development Engineers and Machine Learning Algorithm Engineers to integrate AI-driven inference services, data pipelines, and agent interfaces. + Lead and contribute to technical design, architecture, and system optimization for high performance, stability, and security. + Integrate external IT monitoring, alerting, and configuration systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CMDB) into the platform. + Write high-quality, maintainable code and conduct thorough unit and integration testing. + Debug and resolve complex issues during both development and production, supporting robust and reliable customer experiences. + Mentorcolleaguescontribute to documentation, and share knowledge across teams through presentations, blogs, and code reviews. + Proactivelyidentifyand address opportunities for product innovation and process improvement, influencing the broader engineering roadmap. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of related experience, OR + Master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience, OR + PhD in a relevant field. + Proficiencyin Python programming with experience in backend development. + Working knowledge of at least one Python web framework (e.g., Django, Flask,FastAPI). + Experience with RESTful API design and development. + Solid understanding ofmicroservicesarchitecture, asynchronous programming, and secure coding practices. + Proficient with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases. + Experience with Git for version control. + Strong foundationin software engineering, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. + Excellent communication and teamwork skills. + Demonstrated ability to mentor or coach less-experienced engineers. **Preferred Qualifications** + 5+ years of Python backend development, with experience building large-scale systems or platforms. + Experience with IT operations (AIOps), monitoring systems, or big data processing. + Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). + Experience deploying and managing solutions on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). + Proficient with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching technologies. + Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging systems (Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana). + Understanding of MCD/MCP protocols or Agentic AI framework technologies. + Exposure to frontend development (e.g., React, Vue.js). + Strong systemdesign, problem analysis, and troubleshooting skills. + Experience leading small-to-medium technical projects or features from design through delivery. **Why Cisco?** At Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era – and beyond.
