Job Title: Software Engineer
Job Location: Mexicali, Mexico (Office-based)
Our Department: Trimble - AECO
You will be responsible for designing, coding, documenting, and testing Trimble’s developer experience platform and related applications. The developer experience platform allows internal and external users to integrate and extend Trimble products.
What You Wil Do
Work effectively as a full-stack developer using AWS Lamda services written in Python, DynamoDB, and React; with an emphasis on the back-end services and infrastructure.
Performs product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta support on application software projects.
Tracks the status of assigned project tasks to ensure timely completion, maintains communication with stakeholders regarding progress of work, and notifies appropriate parties when open issues have been resolved.
Participates with an Agile Development team in all stages of product development.
Identifies opportunities for improving software development methods and procedures and communicates recommendations appropriately.
Contributes to the overall success of the Agile team by participating in team estimating meetings, designs, code reviews and pair programming activities.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
BS degree in a field directly related to software development plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience in application design and programming and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to code in a modern language (mainly Python & TypeScript, with consideration also given for Java or C# experience) using object-oriented and functional techniques appropriately.
Experience utilizing unit testing and mocking frameworks such as pytest and/or similar tools.
Experience with REST & GraphQL Web APIs and JSON.
Experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
Understanding of OAuth authentication flows.
Can work effectively with AI tools such as Cursor or CoPilot, but not reliant on them.
Preferred
Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies.
Familiarity with AWS, especially Lambda and DynamoDB.
Experience with IAM, authentication, authorization and identity concepts.
Experience with producing public APIs for third-party development.
Experience with PowerShell and Bash.
Experience with Javascript SPA Frameworks, especially React.
Knowledge of common use patterns of developer tools.
