This individual will contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, reliable features while applying AI tools to assist requirements generation, Jira story creation, code scaffolding, and system documentation. The role spans one or more epics within the program area, collaborating with adjacent teams, improving refinement practices within the team, and delivering practical, measurable improvements through intelligent automation. This is an individual contributor role with team-level technical influence; works with moderate direction and escalates cross-program decisions when needed. **What Will You Do - Responsibilities for Employment** Technical Implementation & Development • Contribute to AI-enabled automation workflows for parts of the software development lifecycle within the program area. • Auto-generate Jira stories, system requirements, and technical documentation with AI-assisted workflows and defined quality gates. • Implement AI-assisted code scaffolding and integrate guardrails into CI/CD pipelines; own unit and integration tests for delivered features. • Develop and operate Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) components, lightweight intelligent agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent integrations to support engineering workflows. • Ensure human-in-the-loop checkpoints, prompt and policy guardrails, traceability, and data access controls for AI outputs. • Monitor and optimize AI feature reliability, latency, and cost; implement feature flags and safe rollouts. • Prepare runbooks, dashboards, alerts, and participate in incident response and post-incident reviews as required. • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Security, and Cloud Ops to define acceptance criteria, security controls, and release plans. • Deliver features end-to-end within scope: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation. **Who You Are - Qualifications** Education: • BS or MS in computer science or a related engineering discipline. Years and Type of Experience: • 3+ years as a Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Test Automation Engineer, or comparable role. • Demonstrated delivery of production-grade features or automation that improved developer productivity or reduced manual effort. • Experience working with distributed systems, APIs, and service-level design at project scope. • Practical experience building or integrating AI components (RAG, embeddings, light agents) into engineering workflows. • Experience participating in incident response and operational readiness activities. Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities: • Strong practical system design and implementation skills appropriate to project scope. • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, REST/gRPC APIs, and containerization (Docker); exposure to Kubernetes is a plus. • Hands-on with at least one cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP) and basic Infra-as-Code (Terraform/ARM) concepts. • Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab) and creating automated pipelines. • Practical knowledge of RAG pipelines, embedding stores or vector databases, prompt design, and retrieval quality considerations. • Testing and observability discipline: unit/integration tests, logging, metrics, and tracing for automation features. • Awareness of data privacy, access controls, and secure handling of embeddings and logs; apply least-privilege and retention policies. • Good English communication skills (written and spoken) • Experience with regulatory compliance or regulated industries is advantageous.
