Join a team dedicated to designing and implementing safety-critical avionics software solutions for the aerospace industry. As an Avionics Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining software for Flight Management Systems (FMS) using C++ within a safety-critical environment. ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement FMS avionics software in C++ within a safety-critical aerospace development environment.Support system and software design, including requirements development, system specifications, and technical documentation for FMS features.Develop and maintain requirements and verification traceability using tools such as DOORS, ensuring alignment with certification expectations.Perform software integration and testing on target hardware, investigate defects, and support fixes through regression verification.Contribute to verification and validation testing, including test procedure development, execution, and evidence capture for compliance.Support certification and qualification efforts, including providing evidence, participating in reviews, and addressing findings.Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of Flight Management System (FMS) engineering experience with TrueCourse™ experience strongly desired.Minimum of 3 years of professional experience using C++ in embedded or avionics contexts.At least 3 years of professional experience working in avionics or aerospace environments.Proficiency in DO-178 software lifecycle exposure and certification artifact support.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with requirements and traceability workflows.Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.Experience developing or testing FMS capabilities, such as flight planning and procedure support (SIDs/STARs/approaches), and nav database integration.Knowledge of lateral/vertical guidance concepts and constraints management in an LNAV/VNAV context.Work EnvironmentThis is a fully remote position that offers at-home client assistance, allowing you to work in a flexible environment while contributing to innovative solutions in the aviation industry.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
