We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for someone with an interest in distributed systems and wants to work on the \"behind the scenes\" technologies which enables computing devices to dynamically discover each other and exchange critical information in real-time. You will be working with the same technologies that have enabled the \"Internet of things\" and apply them to a healthcare environment where a distributed system of patient monitoring devices must work together to seamlessly provide life critical information to healthcare professionals.In this role, you will be expected to:Design and implement platform software and services for GE Healthcare’s Mobile Digital Health products.Work across the entire software development lifecycle including software requirements, high-level and detailed design specifications, software implementation, verification, defect resolution and maintenance activities.Collaborate with Development Leads and Architects to design solutions and implement them into product.Evaluate basic technology/software design choices and articulate tradeoffs.Write software that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.Leverage AI and AI assisted development for project work and operational efficiencies.Participate in pair programming and code reviews.Develop automated unit, integration, and system level tests to verify the design and implementation.Participate in Agile / Scrum activities with the team to define, estimate and plan tasks.Take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision while using discretion to seek help when needed.Participate in non-program engineering improvements to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the team.Education Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).Minimum of 2 years of experience in software design while working on senior engineering projects, internships, open source, or product development.Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:Experience with Java, Typescript and/or Python software design and implementation capabilities.Experience or studies related to distributed systems, peer-to-peer networks, or computer networking.Experience with AI assisted development using Co-Pilot, Q or Kiro.Experience with multi-threaded, concurrent systems.Experience with configurating basic network setups.Experience developing solutions using standard frameworks.Able to develop in a Linux-based environment.Able to develop using Git for software configuration management.Strong communication skillsBusiness Acumen:Candidate must:have the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.understand the technology landscape, be up to date on current technology trends and new technology and bring new ideas to the team.display an understanding of a project's value proposition for the customer and show commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.learn the organization vision statement and decision-making framework.have the ability to understand how team and personal priorities contribute to the organization visionPersonal/Leadership Attributes:Voices opinions and presents clear rationale.
