Software Engineer
Job Title: Sr Software Engineer - Embedded Systems Job Description Join our dynamic software team within the Embedded Systems Engineering group to develop the software stack for our RF Transmitters. This role involves creating user interface and control software for transmitters and electro-mechanical systems. Ideal candidates will have experience in embedded software, RF transmitters, control systems, robotics, or electro-mechanical systems. Responsibilities + Design and develop user interface and control software for transmitters and electro-mechanical systems. + Assess problem statements, architect solutions, and document software requirements. + Plan development timelines, execute those plans, and report on progress weekly. + Assist with system bring-up and troubleshooting. + Provide technical expertise to support adjacent hardware engineering and manufacturing functions and design reviews. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience in software engineering with successful completion of complex projects in mixed environments including Linux and Windows. + Experience in developing and troubleshooting control and monitoring applications utilizing register interfaces and TCP/IP protocols. + Proficiency in C#, Git, Linux, C/C++, Python, TCP/IP, JavaScript, Node.js, React, and GTK+3.x. + Hands-on experience with lower-level communication protocols, lab test equipment, schematics, and board-level parts. + Ability to obtain a secret security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with DSP, AJAX, SOAP, Ant, Servo motor tuning, PLC programming, NTP, Subversion. + Experience in writing embedded/Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) globally distributed applications. + UI and human-computer interaction design experience using React, Ignition, or similar. + Experience in developing and debugging device drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe, GPIO. + Familiarity with virtualization, SVN, Jira, Buildroot, OpenEmbedded, and automated tests. Work Environment Work in a cutting-edge technology environment, collaborating with Sr engineers who are experts in the industry. The team is tasked with developing controls for high-power RF amplifiers supplied to the Navy and NASA for deep-space communication. The role involves hands-on work in a lab setting, testing software and prototypes, and understanding the interaction between software and hardware. Employees will have the opportunity to manage their own time and projects. A new facility will be opening in March 2026, enhancing the work environment further. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $180000.00/yr. Early stages this person will barely be in the lab, but as the project goes on they will test code in the lab, once the code is clear and gets passed, the code then go into the lab to be put on the transmitter test bench. • Strong C# is a good thing, one transmitter platform they have at CEC is built on C# soley. • Garrett was also a C# Expert. • We need a strong C# Engineer with strong knowledge in embedded systems 5+ years experience. • For the second role he is willing to look at someone with 3-4 years experience but not ideal, unless they truly are a rockstar like Emma Robinson.
